Elayaperumal claims Medtronic has discriminated against him because of his race or nationality. He claims that his poor performance review in June of 2000 as well as the decision not to award him certain assignments were influenced by racism. However, there is no evidence to suggest that Medtronic's decisions were based on those factors. Elayaperumal’s lower performance rating did not result in any reduction in his compensation or benefits.
