WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

You can upgrade items your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item upgrader kit will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of The button will show the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item level upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one use therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
