Avon Books - A Brief History

In 1941, the American News Company (ANC) established Avon Publications as a paperback book publisher. It was initially focused on comic books but quickly expanded to include a wide range of genres, including romance.

Avon Books was a major competitor to the more literary Pocket Book Company in the early days of the paperback publishing industry.
