It has a more powerful suction motor, and self emptying robot vacuum and mop dual rubber rollers on its floorhead. This makes it more effective for picking up debris and pet hair from carpets as well as bare floors. The battery can run up to 180 minutes, and it supports scheduled charging, which can help reduce the amount of electricity consumed.

The robot's RockDock Ultra docking stations are the most significant change. They do more than empty and clean their contents after each cleaning cycle. It also washes the mop pad, dry it with warm air and then fills up its water tank. This alone is what makes it stand out from other mop cleaners since it drastically reduces the time and effort that you spend managing its maintenance.

Out of the box, the S8 Pro Ultra is easy to set up. It requires a Wi-Fi connection in order to download its companion app and connect it with the docking station. It comes with an extra mop pad and power cable. After that, you're ready to get started cleaning.

In our tests, the S8 Pro Ultra picked up the majority of surface litter and embedded dirt on medium-pile carpet and unfinished floors. The S8 Pro Ultra's vacuuming performance isn't quite as good as that of our top choice Roomba's iRobot J7+. However, it is still a powerful and versatile machine that is well worth considering.

The app lets you create a 3D home map in which you can designate no-go zones, and schedule specific cleaning times. The app also shows you an ongoing log of cleaning times and coverage areas and lets you see the performance of individual rooms and areas. You can even assign a distinct cleaning mode to each space. You can also include voice control on your Echo device or smart speaker if you have one.

2. IRobot Roomba J7+

The Roomba J7+ robot vacuum is a great alternative for anyone looking for an automatic vacuum that can also mop. This model is equipped with iRobot's Imprint Smart Mapping Technology to create a floorplan of your home to ensure it cleans rooms as efficiently as possible. Dirt Detect helps the robot concentrate on areas that are more filthy and Reactive Sensor Technology helps it avoid obstacles.

The j7+, as with other iRobot products, can be programmed to begin cleaning while you're away from home and stop when it's not done. It can be controlled using the iRobot App or smart speakers that support Alexa and Google Assistant. It responds to voice commands better than the majority of other robots and includes the self-emptying Neabot NoMo.

In addition to allowing you to control the robot using a smartphone or remote as well, the iRobot Genius app makes it easy to configure the j7+, establish a schedule, and fine-tune other settings. It will guide new users through the process of onboarding that will aid the robot in determining their cleaning space and learn about their home.

The j7+ uses an extra-large dust bin than the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tried. This lets it store more debris, but you'll still need to empty it every seven to eight months (or more frequently if you have many pet hairs or other heavy debris). iRobot offers replacement bags and filters.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the j7+'s front camera that is claimed to help the robot recognize hazards such as pet waste and power cords and to avoid them. I was also pleased to discover that when docked, the iRobot j7+ will automatically empty its dust bin into Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal. It comes with an extremely powerful battery that can be used for vacuuming and mopping. If the battery is low, it can return to its dock. Smart features include a home map, 3D mapping and automatic cleaning schedules.

Similar to other Deebot models, the T10 Omni uses a separate cleaning tank to clean and dry its mopping pads to avoid cross-contamination. The cleaning tank of the T10 can hold up to 4L of clean water which can cover around 400m2. It's designed in such an approach that allows it to be filled and drained again without getting wet or touching the pad.

One feature that makes the T10 apart from other robot vacuums is its intelligent mapping technology that creates a precise 3D map of your home's layout. This allows the robot to detect obstacles with greater precision and to alter its direction, increasing the overall efficiency of cleaning.

Its advanced features include a top-quality microphone that responds to voice commands and the ECOVACS app is easy to use and provides an array of customizable settings. The only drawback is the lack of an remote control. This might be frustrating for certain users.

The T10 OMNI performs a fantastic job of cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able remove the majority of pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to maneuver around furniture that was blocking its path.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni is an outstanding option for anyone looking for a self-emptying robot vacuum and mop. The mop is just as powerful as its vacuums, and it comes with an appealing design than the Roomba. While it does not have a remote control, the T10's intelligent capabilities will make up for the lack of one. With the app, you can easily start and stop a cleaning process. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION XL

The ION XL, Shark's most sophisticated self-emptying robot vacuum, is a great option for those looking to get their home clean without lifting a finger. It also has exceptional performance. The vacuum comes with a big bin that can hold a month's worth of dirt and the base can be set to automatically empty it at the end of each cleaning session to store it for a longer period of time. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most versatile on the market. It can clean carpets as well as hard floors. You can control the robot using an app or voice commands and you can even create a map of your house to clean each room at the click of a button. The robot does an excellent job of moving around furniture and can even move through stairs and fully-carpeted rooms effortlessly.

I tested the ION XL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood flooring, area rugs, and a standard test for debris. It was a great job cleaning up and removing debris, pet hair, and even some of the more difficult to remove carpet crumbs. It was also excellent in maneuvering around my bar stools and didn't hit them like the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only issue with the ION XL is that it can't detect shoes, cords or toys in its path. You will need to clean your home before you start this robotic vacuum if want it to avoid them.

The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+ but it's a good alternative if you don't want to spend over $500 on a robot. It's better than the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being simpler to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It is also better at vacuuming bare flooring and picking up pet fur, but not as effective on carpets with a low or carpets with higher pile.

It's not as robust however it's an excellent choice. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It can be controlled via an app or a voice command, and is simple to maintain. It is also affordable.
