1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a sturdy, well-built robot that does an excellent job vacuuming bare floors. It has a large dirt storage compartment on the outside that automatically emptys when it reaches docking stations. It then resumes cleaning after it is recharged. It's efficient in removing small and medium debris from bare floors but it isn't as effective in removing pet hair and is a major cause of cost of maintenance.

Similar to the i3 EVO, this robot employs iRobot's Adapat 3.0 navigation software to learn your home's layout and to remember specific rooms for future cleanings. It also has a feature that automatically adjusts its head height and suction power based on the floor type it's working on.

It did a great job in our tests on hard floors and low-pile flooring, taking away the majority of the smaller and more difficult debris that we deposited on each surface, and the larger crumbs of cereal that we placed on the floor. It's less effective in picking up pet hair than the other models we tested. It could also get stuck on toys or cords in the event that you don't take them off them prior to sending the robot to clean.

In our tests, the i3+ EVO was clean for around 90 minutes before the battery ran low and it returned to its base. This is more than the i7+ or s9+ that was only able to run for 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO has a good record of recollecting its previous run, something we haven't seen on other robots.

The i3+ EVO's dustbin has capacity of 1.5 quarts which is less than the majority of other robots we've have tested. The bin has a release switch on the side, which can be pressed to empty the bin. You can also empty it by using the docking station’s Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal system, which sucks up the dustbin's contents before emptying it into the docking station's dirt bag.

2. Eureka Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro is a powerful mopping system with an suction of 5,500pa. It can be installed in just a few minutes. The integrated 770ml tank of water and dustbin reduce the frequency of emptying and its large capacity permits longer mopping sessions. Its 240 minute duration makes it an excellent option for homes with a larger size. Its impressive intelligent navigation technology, made possible by the use of PreciSense LiDAR mapping provides a wide coverage of the space, while allowing the robot to move around obstacles.

Unlike some other robot vacuums like the Q5 Pro does not require Wi-Fi for operation. However, its battery life is rather small, so you'll need to recharge it often when you are planning to use the robot for a long time. It is fairly easy to maintain by using a dirt bag which can be easily replaced and a straightforward maintenance schedule. It's also a bit cheaper than the more expensive competitors.

The Q5 Pro can be a little finicky when it comes to pet hair and larger debris, but it does a solid job overall. In our tests, the Q5 Pro was able remove more debris from carpet and floors with low pile than Dirt Devil Endura Max. However, it had trouble getting into the tight corners and high-pile recessed areas. It's also more maneuverable and its filtration system does an excellent job of trapping allergens. The straight suction floorhead of the vacuum is too small for large or heavy debris. It also has some minor drawbacks such as its lack of advanced features and limited functionality of the remote control. Despite these limitations, the Eureka Q5 Pro is a good choice for those looking for a basic budget robot vacuum with mopping capabilities.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 plus is a great option for those who want a powerful vacuum that also mop. This little robot has a compact design which allows it to fit into tight spaces such as corners and under furniture that larger robots cannot reach. It also has a sophisticated LiDAR sensor that is able to detect obstacles and avoid collisions.

During our tests during our testing, the K10 Plus vacuumed up pet hair as well as crumbs and other debris quickly and efficiently from our carpet. It also was able to reach into tight spaces like under our beds or around chair legs. In addition to vacuuming, it can do mopping with an additional cloth or a wet wipe. There is a small package of wet wipes with the K10 Plus to get you to get started.

The app for K10 Plus is easy to use and easy to understand. It offers several customization options such as setting a no disruption time, adjusting the layout of the map and setting a schedule to determine when you'd like it to clean. The app tracks the life expectancy of accessories like the side brush, sensor, and bin filter. This lets you determine when it is time you should replace them.

The battery life of the K10 Plus is also pretty impressive. On a full charge we could get three hours of cleaning. It also charges fairly quickly. It ejects dirt into a large bin located in the base station after it's done. 4. iRobot S9+

iRobot Roomba S9+ is in the manufacturer's high-end S Series lineup above models like the iRobot Roomba J7 and iRobot Roomba i3. It's very adept at navigating around furniture and performs well on various surfaces. Its main brushroll features counter rotating rubber scrapers that effectively remove all dirt including pet hair from carpets and floors. Its real-world suction power is powerful for a robotic vacuum, but it's not quite as powerful as the suction power of high-end models like the Roborock S8.

The design of the Roomba S9+ is elegant. It features an elongated frame that appears more modern than its rivals circular bodies. This shape can help it to get into corners and along edges more easily. While it can still leave dust in these areas if the corner brush isn't spinning quickly enough the motor's power more than compensates for this.

In iRobot's tests, the S9+ was able to take in pet hair and cat litter with ease. It also did exceptionally well on hard floors, where its powerful motor could take on all types of floors and corners and edges with ease. Its advanced vSLAM and Imprint Smart Mapping technology also made it one of the top navigators we've tested, and it has a a rock-solid grasp of the floorspace it could even locate its ways under sofas or beds with the drape of a valance over them.

The iRobot App is easy to set up and operate. You can choose the functions you want to activate when setting up the robot, or hold off until you've had familiar with it. Its internal bin does need to be manually emptied occasionally when it gets full The process is less than 15 seconds and is relatively quiet.

5. Roborock S8

This latest version of the Roborock S Series is a powerful robot vacuum and mop combination with a comprehensive feature set. It utilizes the LIDAR and camera system to navigate and avoid obstacles as did its predecessors. Its mapping system creates an interactive 3D map of your home, which you can view in the app. It also lets you set no-go zones or designate specific rooms for spot cleaning. The app lets you set the robot's schedule and select different mopping and vacuuming modes for each room.

The S8 also boasts upgraded HyperForce suction, which sucks hair and other particles of fine size easily. The app allows you to modify the suction power. The device can automatically switch between energy efficient 'Quiet' Balanced' and 'Turbo" modes based on the surface it is cleaning. It also features an Carpet Suction Boost mode that boosts suction when the robot is on rugs.

The S8 can be controlled with one button, which also functions as a cleaning button for the entire robot or an 'Spot' Clean button that directs it to a specific area. Press the 'Dock/Home' button to send the robot to its home station. The app is surprisingly dense features and is simple to use. It lets you select off-peak charging times to reduce the cost of using peak-time power.

The only drawback to the S8 is that its battery does not last longer than it should allow for, with only 130 minutes of use when I left it on its normal settings with both mopping and vacuuming enabled. Still, that's an impressive amount of time and enough to thoroughly clean my apartment.
