Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

Narwal is a relative newcomer to the robot vacuum market. It offers a sweeping/mopping hybrid that's pretty impressive. However, it's expensive and hobbled by a clunky app with a steep curve.

Features

The Narwal T10 is a combination robot vacuum and mop that is able to sweep clean, scrub, and scrub hard floors. Its innovative navigation and mapping system is based on simultaneous localization (SLAM) technologies. It also features anti-collision, anti-cliff-sensing and cliff-sen technologies that prevent the machine from falling down stairs or accidentally hitting furniture. Additionally, it is able to identify and avoid rugs, which is a frequent problem with many robot vacuum/mop hybrids.

The robot is equipped with two large water tanks: one to keep clean and another for dirty. Prior to a mopping cycle it will automatically go to its base station, where it soaks its pads with the clean water from the tank. During the mopping cycle sensors notify you when it's time for you to change out the pads and refill the water. It requires 16 ounces of water which is less water than most robots.

After you've cleaned the dirt off the mop pads the T10 will return to its base station and auto-dries them to avoid cross-contamination. Then, it resumes the mopping task the same way it stopped. This eliminates the necessity of washing your hands by hand which is a great thing since it protects you from bacteria and allergens. This feature is exclusive to Narwal. Most best cheap robot vacuum vac/mop hybrids put their mop heads into buckets of sand that has been contaminated.

The T10's mopping mode is powered by a motor that rotates the pad three times per second. This ensures thorough cleaning, particularly around edges and corners. The rotating pad and two side brushes sweep dirt, hair and other debris into vacuum slots. This eliminates the dust bin and is greener than traditional cleaning.

The app lets you draw a map of your area that allows you to mark areas for sweeping and mopping. You can also select the level of cleaning that you want, for example, a deep clean that removes dirt and other debris for a thorough job. You can also set up "no-go zones" to tell the robot to stay clear of going over area rugs or other obstacles.

Design

Performance

The Narwal Freo is a fantastic robot that does a great job of cleaning hard floors. It has large water tanks that are simple to maintain as well as a variety of mopping intensities. It also has the ability to clean small spills or messes from carpet. The vacuuming capabilities aren't as impressive. Its suction power of 1,800Pa is a bit lower than more expensive robo-vacuums, such as the Roborock S6 MaxV Ultra.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is distinctive among other robovacs available. Its mopping and sweeping capabilities are highly effective and are easily controlled from the narwal app, but it also has buttons on its base station that allow for manual optimization mid-cleaning session.
