WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level upgrade level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using a button, which displays an image of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Another significant modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's best to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making.
