World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of your items is an essential part of equipping your character. Upgrades boost damage to items and enhancements.

They also provide bonuses and improvements. The Blacksmith can also sell them to you.

The upgrade button is located on any item. Each recycled item adds one level to the gauge for upgrading.

Weapons

When an item level upgrade is upgraded, it gains a base damage bonus as well as a scaling factor that can affect other stats. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects and others provide additional attributes. These upgrades can be slotted into armor, weapons trinkets, or gathering tools, and they generally require that the equipment have an upgrade slot available and meet certain requirements. Once a weapon or armor piece features an upgrade component within it, it can be upgraded however the prior upgrade will be destroyed (except for legendary equipment and upgrades). Upgrade components can be found through the Black Lion Salvage Kit, Ascended Salvage tool, or a high-tier salvaging tool on an item.

A weapon can also be upgraded to include a calibration attribute that boosts certain stats, for example Weakspot damage or Crit Rate. This is accomplished through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. Depending on the weapon tier the process can be repeated up to four times.

When the weapon is at max upgrade, it can be reforged with a number of different upgrade types to boost certain stats or add bonuses and effects. Several of these upgrades can be used simultaneously, and the effects are based on the nature of the weapon.

There are two Blacksmiths in the game who can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area, and Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor Site of Grace. Both require different upgrade materials: Smithing Stones for standard weapons and Somber Smithing Stones for modifying the damage a weapon can cause.

Generally, it is recommended to upgrade weapon damage first, followed by armour defense, then the other secondary stats as required by your build. In particular, it's common to see melee druids upgrade their weapon prior to any other gear, because it can increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments, which can be very efficient in increasing the weapon's damage and other stats.

Armor

Item Upgrades allow players to enhance the base stats of certain pieces of armor trinkets, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have additional effects like increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item upgrades are available through crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors, loot drop or as quest rewards.

Armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. Most of the time, a piece of armor will be upgraded to next level once an upgrade is applied. This can be done for all types of armor, however some items cannot be upgraded in any way (such as the armor that is used as a starter in Great Sky Island).

In addition to increasing the defense of an best Item upgrade, some upgrades also offer special abilities that can be activated while wearing an armor. These abilities can be helpful in combat, for instance giving a boost to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades provide effect that are passive and can be useful for example, decreasing damage when wearing armor or enhancing the chance of avoiding an attack.

Upgrades to armor can require several attempts, depending on the type of armor. For instance for instance, if a player wants to upgrade an existing Steelclash armor to Dragonscale the first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with a base defense between the ages of 59-67. Although it appears to be an ordinary eye of a newt, this mystical item level upgrade seems to be affecting your vision in ways beyond merely reducing your field of view. At the present time, this trinket increases the overall health gained from drinking potions of healing, waterkins, and wells of health by X%. It also grants the ability to see enemies within the Y tiles. This is not a stacking feature with Heightened Senses.

Skull Cavern is where you will find Trinkets after you have completed the Mastery Cave. You can find them after defeating Monsters and chests and crates. They aren't found in the Mines or Volcano Dungeon.

When you have a trinket which needs to be upgraded then place it in the Anvil to do so. This will cause a random effect on the trinket, either prolonging its life or enhancing its effects. You can reorge the Trinket as often as you like however it will always have the same effect.

You can also enhance your Trinkets by placing them in a Magical Catalyst at the Alchemy Station. It will cost you 6 energy and increase the power of the trinket by just a little.
