Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you could choose to have the robot clean up the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only issue is that the robot tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the cleaning history on the app will show you precisely what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first Robot Vacuum Mops vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during it's operation, producing only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it an ideal choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this listing but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
