Best iRobot Vacuums

This entry-level iRobot is a great option for those who want to save the price of a higher-end model. It has amazing navigation and obstacle-avoidance technology, and offers app and voice control along with scheduled cleaning.

Its vacuuming capabilities were top-of-the-line, removing 55% of debris in our tests. Its mopping was able to remove dried milk staining.

1. Roomba S9+

After a month of testing robot vacuums, I think the Roomba s9+ is the best choice for homes with a lot of space. Its unique shape allows it to be closer to corners and walls to provide a better clean, and its powerful motor is more capable of cleaning up kitty litter and pet hair than any other robot I've tested. The s9+ also includes advanced features, such as Dirt Detect and the capability to select the time it cleans using the iRobot Home app.

iRobot's vSLAM navigational technology developed by the company through research to aid landmine detectors locate mines, is an impressive achievement. It scans the room at 25 times per second, constructing an accurate map of your space that aids in helping Baby Rocky avoid getting snagged in a sea of clutter. The model this year also includes PerfectEdge Technology which lets the s9+ get close to edges that are difficult to reach like the thin edges on my Ikea renovated kitchen cabinets.

The s9+ isn’t expensive, but I believe it’s the best WiFI-enabled robot vacuum I've ever used. Its intelligent mapping, self-emptying base and simple irobot that vacuums and mops Home app make it easy to schedule cleaning tasks from afar. It's simple to operate and maintain and feels sturdy and well-built.

Its overall performance is unbeatable in my experience. I'm not a big fan of the s9+'s'smart dust sensor', which is designed to pinpoint areas that have high concentrations and concentrate its cleaning power in those areas. It's also better at picking up kitty-litter and pet hair than its nearest competitor and the more affordable ONSON GOOVI robot F007.

2. Roomba J7+

The Roomba J7+ is a robotic vacuum that offers wet mopping capabilities. The j7+ utilizes advanced technology to stay clear of obstacles and clean your floors without snagging an area. It is quieter on carpet than hard flooring, yet it still emits less noise (about 60db) than the CDC claims most people find annoying.

If it is equipped with the mopping attachment the j7+ can switch between mopping and sweeping to ensure your floors are clean. It comes with a powerful, three-stage cleaning system that consists of an edge-sweeping vacuum and high-powered brushes that can move around furniture, tight corners, and two rubber brush heads with multi-surfaces that work on different types of floors. The J7+ also does well at picking up pet hair and other debris from carpets with no pile and floors with low pile.

While the j7+ is an excellent robot vacuum, it's not as good as our top choice Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. The X1 is more efficient in terms of battery life and faster charging speed, and is compatible with self-emptying bases stations and can detect your schedule to organize autonomous cleaning sessions, has a better camera to spot hazards such as pet waste and power cables, is more durable and solid, comes with mopping attachment, and is more adept at navigating messy areas, and does a better job of getting rid of pet hair off of the floors.

3. Roomba i3 EVO

The Roomba EVO is an excellent robot vacuum for floors with no carpet. The BestReviews Testing Lab put it against the Shark AI Robot, and while both models have similar cleaning capabilities, we discovered that the i3 EVO is better equipped to handle both carpeting with high and low piles. The i3 EVO also has a larger dirt compartment, which means it does not require frequent emptying. It also comes with a Dual Virtual Barrier which allows you to identify areas for the robot not to clean, which makes it a fantastic option for homes where pets live.

Like other irobot robots, the i3 EVO utilizes a smart map to remember the layout of your home and divisions, however it does this without the aid of a camera that the i8/i8+, j7/j7+ and s9/s9+ do. Instead the i3 EVO uses floor-tracking sensors to determine the location of rooms and how they're divided. It has some issues with pet hair and other fine particles that can be found on floors however, and requires multiple passes to fully clear the floor. This isn't uncommon for robovacs without specific suction capability for pet hair.

When the i3 EVO's inner dust bin is full, it fills up the docking station's outside dirt compartment and continues to clean. When its battery is low it will return to the docking station and begin charging. This automatic feature helps keep your hands clean and prevents the i3 EVO from losing its performance as it fills up with dust.

4. Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet M6 is a mopping machine which aims to take the hassle out of cleaning floors. It's a lot different from iRobot Braava's previous models and has a bigger tank of water that sits under its spiffy new lid. It actually mop your floors using a sanitary cleaning solution, unlike most 2-in-1 hybrids. It also has a nice adjustable nozzle that lets you to choose the area to be cleaned, and smart recharge and resume functions.

It is easy to use and setup. Simply plug it into the outlet, download the iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) Robot Vacuum: Smart Wi-Fi Connected App and follow the directions. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can simply give it an order to start a cleaning job or get its status. The iRobot App is one of the most user-friendly applications in the market and lets you plan, select rooms or areas to block off and more.

Once you've got your app set up, the M6 uses Imprint Smart Mapping technology to understand your home's floor plan and map out every room and its contents during every mopping session, without the need for wires or cameras. It can map out your house even after it's been cleaned. This can be useful when you need to move furniture around or make modifications to the floor plan.

This mop from a robot is the best in its class. It will clean your floors and eliminate messes. It's especially good in dealing with small sticky spills, moving under chairs and skirts as well as hugging the wall and pushing aside throw rugs. It's not the strongest mop on the market, but it still performs admirably.

As with other iRobot products, it's a little pricey however it comes with some great features that make it worth the purchase.
