iRobot Cleaner Review

iRobot cleaners can be trained to learn your cleaning habits and then suggest a schedule that meet your requirements. They also offer suggestions for things you might not have thought of for example, additional cleaning during allergy season.

You'll notice that it follows walls and tries to locate furniture edges. It makes use of tracking sensors to map your home and create a cleaning plan.

iRobot Roomba Combo i5/i5+

The iRobot Combo i5/i5+ robotic irobots vacuum cleaner and mop is engineered to clean your floors in just one step. Its four-stage cleaning system is more sophisticated than sweeping and vacuuming. It removes dirt and tiny particles to give you the most hygienic floors.

The Combo i5/i5+ can be used with any Alexa-, Siri-, or Google Assistant enabled device1. You can begin, stop, or plan cleaning sessions with your voice. It can also detect your home's unique layout and create a Smart Map for a more efficient cleaning. The app lets you create "Keep Out Zones" which stop robots from roaming around specific areas, like cables, or pet waste.

The advanced navigation system of this Roomba is a combination of iRobot Precision Vision navigation and a camera that can recognize household items and obstacles. The cameras let it avoid common barriers such as cords shoes, socks, backpacks, and pet toys, and then deploy specific cleaning techniques around them. The Combo i5/i5+ comes with patented Dirt Detect technology, which helps the robot focus more attention on spots that are dirty.

One of the best features of this robot is its automatic emptying Clean Base, which can hold up to 60 days of waste and reduce the need for manual maintenance. It also has a recharge-and-resume feature that sends the robot to its homebase for charging when its battery runs out. It then picks up right where it was when it left.

The i5+ robot is perfect for homes with many rooms. However, it's not designed for carpeted or stairs. It has a small capacity dust bin, which means it can't clean your entire house when there's a lot of debris or pets. If you're seeking a Roomba that can handle more challenging environments, consider the i7 or i9 model. These robots are better equipped to tackle stairs, and can also be used to mop wet areas. The iRobot Combo i5/i5+, with its unique design and cutting-edge technology is a fantastic option for homes that need both a vacuum cleaner and a mop.

iRobot Roomba Combo i7

This premium model comes with premium features and class-leading performance that will entice buyers away from the vast majority of low-cost competitors. The most notable upgrade is the automatic dirt disposal, which eliminates the need to dispose of a trash bin after each clean. Another feature is persistent mapping that lets the i7+ remember your home's layout and adapt to different layouts on the fly.

The Combo i7+ has a simple setup process, which includes a clear on-screen guide that will guide you through the initial registration and set-up. Once the robot is registered, it can be instructed to vacuum or mop with the iRobot HOME app, or Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands. The i7+ is also simple to program by allowing you to schedule cleaning sessions and establish virtual boundaries that it will follow.

In our tests the i7+ performed well climbing over rugs and floor breaks effortlessly. It was also able to recognize furniture and other obstacles without a problem, but it was unable to climb over a two-inch marble slab that separated the kitchen from living rooms. Its edge cleaning is also superior to what we have seen with budget robot vacuums. It has a great grip around corners.

Once the i7+ has reached its maximum capacity, it goes back to its Clean Base and empties its contents. Then it gets ready for the next clean. When it's time to add cleaning fluid, just press a button on the side of the robot and the small water tank/dustbin combo clips open.

The only downside is that the Clean Base occupies a lot of space. This makes it difficult to keep the i7+ in the cupboard when it's not being used. But it's a common issue with robot cleaners, and most manufacturers offer smaller charging stations that are smaller. They are also capable of fitting under cabinets and make it easier to hide your iRobot while not being used. iRobot has reached out to us following publication to clarify that the Combo i7+ is designed to be used only with the manufacturer-approved cleaning solution (sold separately). It is not recommended to use water as this can cause damage to internal components and decrease performance.

iRobot Roomba Combo i9

The robot vacuums and mop simultaneously by using its stainless steel arms to grab dirt and debris while it moves. It lowers its mop when it notices carpets to prevent getting carpets wet. This is a nice feature. This feature is what iRobot calls Dry Rug Intelligence, worked well in my tests, and was a major improvement over the older Roomba models that could only vacuum and mop without changing modes.

The iRobot app lets you create an agenda for cleaning and access history and status updates. The app also includes "robot health" data, such as the length of time your iRobot will run before it needs an upgrade to a pad or filter. The app also includes detailed instructions, troubleshooting tips, and advanced settings to adjust the mopping water, number of mopping passes per floor, and much more.

IRobot's new navigation system lets the i8 map its way around your home. Additionally, it can navigate around obstacles like power cords with ease. The navigation system is also able to modify its cleaning route based on the different floors. If you have a huge home, the i8 could require multiple runs before it's finished mapping.

This robot also operates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This means you can control the robot using your voice which is a great option for busy people. This is a very useful feature for those who need to clean their homes regularly and efficiently.

In addition to being connected to smart home devices, the iRobot i8 can work with the iBraava Jet M6, which can be set to automatically mop after the i8 has finished vacuuming. The i8 is equipped with a Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal unit and an additional HEPA filter.

This is iRobot’s latest flagship vacuum, and their best yet. It has a larger dust bin inside, and can move more easily over rugs, and can detect more dust on floors of all kinds. The i9 can also detect different rooms and automatically adjust its cleaning routine making it more efficient than older models. The i9 offers advanced mopping capabilities including deep cleaning and spot mops.

iRobot Roomba i9+

The Roomba i9+ robot vacuum and mop is among the most versatile options on the market, providing top-rated cleaning on carpets and floors. It's also among the smartest robots on the market - it learns your home's floor plan while cleaning, and remembers that map for future tasks and allows you to find your way back to where you had left off. Its SmartScrub feature is the best in class for cleaning stubborn dirt, pet hair and other buried debris. Dirt Detective, another new feature, is able to identify and prioritize areas that require extra attention, and the Clean Base auto-filler keeps your Robot Vacuum Mops's tank of water and dust full, so that it doesn't run out.

The i9+ also does an excellent job of picking up pet messes, with the only caveat is that it may miss a few if you have particularly deep litter boxes (we've seen this issue on other robots, too). It's also fantastic in picking up pet waste however it could not pick up all of it if your litter box is particularly deep (we've experienced the same issue with other robots). The i9+ is one of our top models for cleaning bare floors. It's effective at clearing away all kinds of kinds of debris without leaving streaks or scratching the surface, unlike some competitors (we'd recommend the eufy X10 Pro Omni for pet enthusiasts).

iRobot has introduced a number of improvements with this model. This includes the i7+'s remarkable performance, as well as a D-shaped design which improves its ability navigate corners and edges. Its software is upgradable and allows users to add or transfer maps from other devices.
