These base stations are intelligent and can hold up to a week's worth dirt, so you don't have to worry about emptying the robot. They'll even notify you when they're full.

The Eureka E10S

The E10S is an excellent choice for homeowners looking to save time and effort while fighting the daily accumulation of pet fur, dirt and other messes. The robot vacuums as well as mop. The owners can set up cleaning schedules, designate levels, and designate specific rooms and zones. It also comes with an impressive 4,000Pa vacuum and mop motors, ensuring a thorough job even on the toughest flooring kinds. It is a bagless model, removing the need for replacement bags and promoting a simpler maintenance with a clear trash container that allows users to easily be aware of when the container is full and needs emptying.

The Eureka App provides high-level of functionality and a user-friendly interface. In addition to creating and storing maps it allows you to label rooms, and also define no-go and no-mop zones to ensure the cleaner doesn't wander off into the kitchen. The bot can be controlled manually and set up cleaning schedules.

The E10S is easy to set up. It takes only just a few steps to get it running. It comes with a charging dock, and there is a helpful tutorial that will guide new users through the procedure. Despite a few minor hiccups the E10S is a great addition to any home. It will save time and effort while also keeping the floors spotless.

The SwitchBot Mini K10+

The SwitchBot Mini K10+ offers a wide range of functions within its small frame making it a great option for smaller homes and apartments. Its impressive cleaning capabilities has earned it top marks in our debris removal, edge and crevice cleaning tests. Its navigation and mapping capabilities were also exceptional, as the robot was able to avoid obstacles when moving furniture.

This vacuum and robot mop is one of only a few in its class that utilizes LiDAR SLAM, which allows it to create detailed maps of the rooms in your home. It also has 10 top level sensors, which means it can even navigate the most confined spaces. It is very efficient and consumes very only a tiny amount of energy despite its advanced capabilities.

The application that controls the robot is well-designed and easy to use, with a clean interface. The main screen shows basic information such as the status of the dust bin, filter and mop pad plate. You can also set cleaning modes, create highly customized schedules and create reports within the application.

You can also designate no-go zones that prevent the robot from entering certain areas of your house. This is a great option for those who want to protect your robot from areas that aren't safe for it, like the kitchen or pet area. The app can also help you keep track of your battery to ensure it's fully charged for optimal operation.

When the robot is finished cleaning, it automatically returns to its Station to charge. The station is able to be moved from one area to another, but is somewhat noisy when it is sucking up the dirt and returning to its charging dock.

When you remove the K10+ from its box There are a few physical requirements. This includes removing any padding from crevices and gaps. It's important to place the machine in close proximity to an electrical socket, and you'll need decent WiFi coverage to connect to the app. The included accessories include a spare filter, side brush and package of disposable mop pads. These accessories are great to the robot since they offer additional convenience and reduce time spent changing the supplies.

The Shark IQ XL

The Shark IQ XL offers an impressive number of smart features and is reasonably well-built for less than $400. It's a superior overall robot than the less-than-stellar RoboVac G30, feels nicer to use, and delivers superior performance on carpets that are unfinished and those with carpets that have high and low piles. It also does a better job getting around obstacles such as electrical cords.

Its battery performance is superb and it can run for more than an hour on its high-suction mode, 'Max. Its large bagless wifi-connected robot base station is also easy to clean - simply take the side bin off and empty it into an empty trash can - there's no need to use special cleaning bags or extra hassle. The IQ's companion application allows you to send it to specific rooms, restart the session where it began if it needs to charge halfway through, and schedule multiple cleaning sessions within a single day if needed.

When we tried the IQ XL, it performed well on hard floors, but was unable to handle carpets with medium piles that were prone to apprehension of larger crumbs and sometimes pushing debris into corners where it wasn't supposed to be. The side brush on the robot may occasionally fail to catch dirt or swish it away. It also moves in a straight lines instead of zigzagging like more advanced robots.

If you want the IQ XL to keep out certain areas of your home, you can draw zones that are not allowed to be visited by dragging boundary squares in the application. These boxes aren't easy to draw and adjust. We prefer the option of virtual walls.

The IQ XL also has a feature we found to be extremely useful the Ultra-Clean Mode. This mode doubles the suction power and makes use of its brushes to sweep the floor in a crosshatch. This feature is particularly beneficial in areas that are heavily trafficked. However, we're disappointed that it's not available on the current models. It is possible to set a timer that will automatically activate a single Ultra-Clean cycle in any room of the home.

The Shark Matrix

Although it doesn't have the same set of features as the iRobot Roomba lineup, Shark's ION-series best robot vacuum for pet hair self-emptying bagless vacuums punch above their weight with LIDAR mapping capabilities and an auto-emptying base station. However the Matrix takes things to the next level with mopping and vacuuming in one.

The Matrix like all robotic vacuums can be used to clean your floors with a traditional upright or set up with a powered pad that can move the floor and scrub it to give it a thorough cleaning. It can also be used in a vacuum/mop mode, which uses the same cleaning pad to simultaneously scrub your floor and eliminate any stubborn dirt and stains. The matrix's powerful vacuuming mode is especially impressive for carpets. It utilizes a grid of passes to remove dirt and debris, resulting in 30% more stain removal than Roomba robots.

The Matrix also is much easier to operate than the modern Roomba. Setting up a spot cleaning zone is as simple as dragging a square in the appropriate tab within the Shark app, whereas Roomba owners have to manually create and label the specific cleaning zone on their map. Furthermore the Matrix comes with a physical power button if you'd like to start cleaning without having to open the app.

The Matrix has other features that improve the quality of life, including three suction power settings (normal Eco, Eco and high-power "Max") and a recharge/resume feature that lets it to continue where it left off, if it needs to return to its dock. Its battery life is slightly higher than the AI Ultra, and its overall debris pickup performance was outstanding across a variety of surfaces.

The only drawback of the Matrix is that it drains battery faster than other models, and its performance for cleaning pet hairs is not consistent. Still, this is an excellent choice for the majority of households and the Matrix improves on the AI Ultra in several key ways. It feels considerably better built and recharges more quickly and provides better debris removal on carpets with low pile. In addition, the EcoMax' and 'Eco modes provide a significant improvement over AI Ultra's "Normal" mode.
