1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.

It also has an alternating mopping mat made of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mopping. In my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and then got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as create an "Zambani pattern" across the center of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the trash bin and clean the mop with hot water before starting another clean-up job.

It only takes some minutes. You can then launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to dig into the settings and modify my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, which included creating restricted areas to sweep and mop and reworking my furniture placements, and so on. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and also achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between vacuuming and mopping in one run. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum depending on your requirements. This is great for most households, but not so for those who lead busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that produces impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the dust we tossed at it our hardwood flooring and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It also did an excellent job on tile and carpet and tile, getting rid of more than 90% of dirt and dust.

This robotic vacuum and mop has large docking stations that provides cool water cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L bag that's simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.

The Deebot T10 comes with an integrated wash tray into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry its mop pads while using them. But it doesn't use a removable tray, which means that dirty water, dust and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

On the opposite side there's a motorized floorbrush as well as a single side brush that pushes dust from the edges into the main path of its'mouth.' It's a little smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I found to be easier to get under sofas and chairs.

Its mapping system lets you set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of bumping into things, including its own charging station, and isn't very good at climbing over carpets. It did a great job of picking up pet hair from floors that were bare, though, and during our tests, it took in 89.5 percent of litter, which is higher than all but the most Powerful Huije Robotic Vacuum Cleaner - 2000Pa robots we've tested.

While it's controllable via the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to select the cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. You can also use these to set no-go zones as well as see maps in real-time. It's a little chatty, too, and will let you know what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or even warn you that something is wrong (it does not have enough power to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This model of high-tech vacuum can pick up pet hair, kibble, and other particles with impressive efficiency. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It's Wi-Fi enabled and best controlled via the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs monitored. The X2 Omni is a great choice for large homes that have a mixture of hard and carpet floors. However it will require some planning ahead to avoid getting caught on electrical cables, toys or other unexpected obstructions.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and was able to pick up everything from a single grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in just one sweep. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, however, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms with both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

It's not cheap but if you're able to afford it, this is a great option for those who want to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to tackle difficult dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly option from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest robot we've tested yet and offers an outstanding value for cost. Its navigation system is basic and uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm that isn't equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as durable, but it is better at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a good job on carpets with low pile, and it utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide superior maneuverability. It also allows you to transfer it to a particular room, and its advanced suite of automation features includes no-go zones as well as scheduling. It also allows you to pause and resume cleaning making it ideal for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It also comes with an assortment of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

This vacuum feels solid and well-constructed, and it works with a smartphone app that lets you change its vacuum settings and schedule cleaning times in advance.
