It has a small capacity dust bin, which means it can't clean your entire house if there is a lot of pet waste or debris. If you're looking for a Roomba that can handle more difficult environments, you should consider the I7 or i9 models. These models are better equipped to tackle stairs and can also be used to mop wet areas. iRobot Roomba Combo i7

The most significant upgrade is a built-in automatic dirt disposal that eliminates the need to empty the dust bin after each clean. The Combo i7+ is easy to set up, thanks to an easy app walkthrough as well as clear on-screen instructions that help you through the initial setup and registration procedure. The only real drawback is that the Clean Base takes up a considerable amount of space which makes it difficult to put the i7+ away in a closet if it's not being used. But, this is a common issue with robot cleaners, and most manufacturers offer smaller charging stations that are smaller. Those stations also typically fit under cabinets which makes it easier for you to hide the iRobot when not in use. iRobot has reached out to us following publication to clarify that the Combo i7+ is designed to be used only with the manufacturer-approved cleaning solution (sold separately). It is not recommended to fill with water, which could damage the internal components and decrease the performance.

iRobot Roomba Combo i9

The i9+ is also one of our favorite models for cleaning floors with no carpet. It's efficient at removing all kinds of debris types and does so without leaving streaks or scratching marks on the floor, unlike some of the competitors (we'd recommend the eufy X10 Pro Omni for pet people).
