The Eufy 11S is one the most affordable self-emptying robot vacuums on the market. In our tests it was able to clean up dry oats on hard floors as well as carpets with low pile. Its dustbin opens and empties quickly, making it much easier to use than some other models in the same price.

It recharges at its base and then cleans when it's fully charged. Its obstacle-avoidance technology gets caught in cords and socks and isn't able to get under thresholds that are low.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is a less expensive self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner that many people seem to love. It's good at scooting under furniture and seems to be a great choice for people with hard floors or who wish to do light daily cleans. The suction is weaker than our top picks but it still does the job. It also has a huge dirt bin and a battery that can last for over an hour. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning routine or pick a specific room. It's also possible to draw a map of your home, which can assist in avoiding areas you don't want to go to.

The app is easy to use and has a clean layout. It doesn't have any advanced features, but it's straightforward enough to use and makes it easy to keep track of the progress of your robot. It comes with a tutorial that will guide you through the basics.

Bounce Navigation's cleaning patterns aren't always rational. Sometimes it follows straight lines, and at other times, it concentrates on the edges of a space. But it is able to clean your entire floor. It's not the greatest at navigating obstacles though. It struggled to get underneath our piano pedals and pet food bowls, and got stuck in our 2.25-inch shag rug multiple times.

We think that there are better robot vacuums available than the 11S. The iRobot Roomba 694 is more robust and is easier to maintain. It also incurs lower recurring costs and takes less time to charge. It also has a bigger dustbin, and performs better on all surfaces and can also overcome low-lying obstructions (like electrical cords) more easily.

The RoboVac 11S, which is eufy, is a good choice for regular vacuuming. It shares a similar design to our top choice and is great in removing small particles and fine dust from hard floors. It's a great choice on carpets with medium or low pile. Like the iRobot Roomba, it has a very large dirt compartment and uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also has a remote control that's easy to use, and you can program daily cleaning routines with the app. The battery can last for around an hour, and the dustbin can be emptied without removing it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 maxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a great robot with an array of amazing automation features. It comes in three versions, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus and the S7 MaxV Ultra. Only the latter has an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its home base and empty the debris in a dust bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and wash its mopping pads.

The S7's sensors work in tandem to avoid obstacles and clean the floors. It can detect flooring types and save a map of rooms and zones. It can even detect dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and executing spot cleaning sessions. It performed well in our tests, but it wasn't able to exactly match the Roomba j7+ in the carpet deep clean test.

With the companion app you can program the S7 to perform a cleaning cycle according to your schedule. You can set a date, time day, week, or even a day, as well as select among a range of cleaning modes such as automatic, eco and deep clean. You can also choose whether the robot will stop if its power is exhausted or if it encounters an obstruction.

If you don't own an Android device however, you can still utilize the S7 by connecting a remote to the charging dock. The controls on the remote are a little confusing initially, but once you've mastered the use of them, they function well. The power button acts as a 'Cleaning' button, and the Spot Clean button instructs the robot to clean up an area around it. The "Spot Clean" button also triggers the child lock.

You can enable this feature by pressing a particular sequence of buttons on the S7 and creating an unlock pattern within the app to use any time you wish to see what the robot is up to.

3. Shark IQ XL

Shark isn't as well-known in the field of robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock However, our tests on this model has shown it to be one of the best robot vacuum for pet hair self emptying self-emptying robot vacuums currently on the market. It's easy to set up, has an enormous bin that's easy to empty (albeit a bit loudly) into a trash bin when it's full and can be programmed to do a complete home cleaning schedule or as required.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi and lets you monitor it from the Shark app and view its battery status as it cleans. The app allows you to create a cleaning schedule, receive push notifications regarding its current status as well as pause cleaning and then restart cleaning, or set it to clean only one area. It can also be controlled with voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will tell you what power mode it's currently in--Eco, Normal or Max--but we didn't find that any of the modes made a significant difference in cleaning performance.

Once it finishes cleaning after which the IQ XL automatically empty the dust bin into its base, which then self-empties. The bin can store up to 60 days of debris so it won't be required to empty it more than once unless your pets have hair that is long. If you do need to empty it, simply detach the side container and place it over your trash bin and push a button.

The Shark IQ XL is a good vacuum cleaner. It does a decent job of cleaning bare floors and it can maneuver itself well. However the Shark IQ XL feels a little less solidly built than the Roomba 694. It removes lots of dirt from bare floors and does a good job at maneuvering itself, but it doesn't come as close to achieving the same performance as the iRobot Roomba i7 in terms of performance on carpeted floors. The i7 is also more robust and feels more durable. It is robust, has lower maintenance requirements, is able to charge lower costs for recurring expenses, charges faster while offering comparable battery performance, and offers much more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones and the capability to select specific rooms to keep clean.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combination is a rarity since it does both jobs extremely well. IRobot's Combo J7+ comes with all the smarts of its j7-based counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping, however, it also comes with additional features for both vacuuming and mopping.

The j7+ makes use of the latest acoustic sensor technology to identify the floor type which allows it to mop or vacuum the room in its first attempt. It also makes use of this information to prioritize cleaning rooms with carpets and rug flooring over rooms with hard floors.

The J7+ is more quiet than the majority of robotic vacuums when running, and even quieter when it's mopping. The maximum reading of 64db on our decibel meter is comparable to general office chatter.

It is easy to set up a cleaning schedule and change what happens when the dust canister is full. The j7+ can be controlled by voice assistants, such as Alexa, Google Assistant and other. The app allows you to create and view maps in Smart Features: Upgrade Your Robot Vacuum's Capabilities home.

In our tests, the j7+ performed well on carpeted and hard floors, and it cleaned up most of the dirt we tossed at it. It isn't able to deal dealing with pet hair, large particles and sand. However, it is able to remove them with a bit more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors to stop it from falling down the stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.

The J7+ has a few minor flaws, for instance, it could get stuck on cords or rugs and it doesn't always turn off the mopping function when it is done vacuuming. This is a fantastic model that checks all the boxes.

iRobot's j7+ also comes with one of the top self-emptying systems we've seen. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust container into the base station, where it automatically emptys itself. This helps to reduce the amount of trash you need to dispose of and you'll only have to change the reusable dust bag from the dock around every 60 days or so, based on how often you use the J7+.
