The S1 was able to map my downstairs quickly, which includes linoleum in the dining area, kitchen and bathrooms and a carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving close to walls and even across raised thresholds without issue. However it was a bit difficult traversing the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on the flat side against the floor, and then lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or rug.

The S1's docking station automatically emptys its trash bin and fills its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution into the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however this will differ based on how often you use the mop.

The S1 needs periodic maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. To do this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to prevent them from getting clogged up with dirt or dust. However, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially when compared to other combinations which require more effort to maintain.

Mopping capabilities are excellent and include a pair of mops which are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply moving the pad across it. The mops are cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station as required. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as needed.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame released the luxe X30 Ultra earlier this year and their new flagship robot vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our list of the best automatic vacuum cleaner mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is accomplished.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets.
